Basic Physics of Ultrasonographic Imaging by W.H.O.

The World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the International Commission for Radiologic Education (ICRE) of the International Society of Radiology (ISR), other members of the Global Steering Group for Education and Training in Diagnostic Imaging and individual experts, is creating a series of practical manuals and workbooks for use in diagnostic imaging. The full series will cover medical and diagnostic aspects as well as technical issues, including radiation safety, and is primarily written for medical staff working in this area without much opportunity for continuing education, sometimes also without proper basic education. The present volume in this series, Basic physics of ultrasonographic imaging provides clear and concise information on the physics behind ultrasound examinations in diagnostic imaging. It was written by an internationally well-known expert in the field, who has been very much involved in practical training and education of end-users of ultrasound equipment. The author has the ability to make sophisticated technical information understandable, also for non-physicists. This book also complements information offered in the Manual of Diagnostic Ultrasound published by the World Health Organization.
