X-ray Equipment Maintenance and Repairs Workbook by W.H.O.

This workbook is one of a series of practical and technical workbooks and manuals aiming at assisting medical and technical personnel working in the area of diagnostic imaging in small and mid-size hospitals. It has been prepared by a working group established by the International Society of Radiographers and radiological Technologists (ISRRT) on behalf of the World health Organization (WHO) and the Global Steering Group for Education and Training in Diagnostic Imaging. The main objective of the Global Steering Group for Education and Training in Diagnostic Imaging is to assist countries in improving diagnostic imaging services as integrated parts of their national health systems.

This workbook is intended to help and guide staff working with, and responsible for, radiographic equipment and installations in remote institutions where the necessary technical support is not available, to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment to avoid break downs. Ideally, the book should be used in connection with workshops as a practical workbook, but it can also be used for self study and as a checklist for routine maintenance procedures.
